I have a question about the Zones of Conflict.

The debuff is for ships over 50k cp but if you attack an enemy planet with planetary defences what about these?
Are these added to the Zones of Conflict cp for the defender or not?

Not sure, really good question.

That leads me to a question for the devs myself: Will a planetary siege create a ZoC, or are ships fighting each other the only way to generate a ZoC? If no ZoC is created, I hope there is some alert system added for Alliance/Coalition/CustomizedList Members to receive alerts when friendly planets come under siege.

If you have enough available pop you can expand and improve the area around your planetary sectors. So, defensive expansions will not take up CP.

I guess I need to watch these live streams...

ZoCs sound VERY easy to abuse from a theoretical standpoint.

Examples:
Even if you cannot "combine" forces to attack, you could do a rotating volley like they used to do in war with muskets.
  • Ally 1 FTLs in and attacks Enemy.
  • Ally 2 and 3 FTL in outside of the ZoC.
  • Ally 2 enters the ZoC and Ally 1 Retreats and repairs.
  • Ally 3 enters the ZoC and ally 2 Retreats and repairs.
  • Rinse and Repeat.

I feel this also ruins Team Tactics. Lets say you have an ongoing 3v5 where you are constantly back and forth fighting.
If all 8 players are online, you would never want to have a full 3v5 battle, You would be forced to fight a 3v3 and have 2 players sit out and become cheerleaders, or wait till one of their allies is completely destroyed before entering the battle.

Also, lets say an enemy FTLs into hostile space, in the middle of 15 players fleets and engages. His fleet magically becomes God-Tier since in the ZoC its 15 vs 1.

(This is all Theory since I haven't watched the Live Streams, but I will be watching them today and coming back to post again)
