The Live server isn't using any of the settings it will next week.
Then everything will be very slow and you will have to use your population more wisely then.

Once the game is progressed more, dropping troops onto a planet from the start will not even work and usually cost you the troops you dropped.
Population will not generate on new planets like they do now.
Planet capture will not remotely resemble its current system.
You will not be able to claim all the planets you want when you first start.
You will not be able to leave your starting system for the first week or unless everyone else in the system agrees.

are there going to be native inhabitants that will have to be crushed to take a planet? if so how many natives do we have to subdue.

is there going to be a new transport bay to bringing population from our home world over to the new planet?

There will be various wildlife that are ever present on planets.
More aggressive ones will make colonizing more time consuming and resource intensive and continued living will require more security.
Various events will trigger more frequently on more aggressive planets that result in delays and deaths.
Wildlife will be a resource which is key to Acean's research system.

There will be a bay for transporting civilians but they will take a while to get settled and trained before they can preform their "function of being population".
Transferring population between sectors will also cause them to be retrained and settled.
When the happiness system is introduced, civilians will not like being moved around.
