How about Electron Cloud?

You could make up some sudo-science explanation for it.
Like the electrons become charged when they collide with matter, causing a glow effect.

The Byonder's Rift-

Backstory: The name for the aftermath of a failed technique used by the ancient Azendi from the Byonders faction to try and obtain a non-physical form. Little is know about the technique used, but rumors say that at the cost of a Azedi's life and a large amount of cosmic power. A large cloud is formed that masks all things inside of it after the course of a minute as long as the object inside remains perfectly still.

Maybe not the most scientific name, but it was fun to write.

I love the dev updates, but I kind of miss the pictures that appeared next to them on the main page. It helped me tell the difference between the thirty semodd postings at a glance, without having to read the title. It also provides an opportunity to tell us a little about what the dev blog will be talking about before we read it.

Oh, I didn't even know it could do that.
I don't even know how it's been done in the past on my dev blogs.

Did not read this email until today, I've got a name though to suggest. A "Spectre" or "spectral nebula"
